WILSON GARDEN
Transformation of local neighbourhood
Wilson garden is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Bangalore. The site stretches along Siddhaiah road with the TTMC bus stand on one end and the market on another end. The street has high pedestrian, vehicular, and cyclist flow. The design focused on increasing the safety of the road by aligning them and creating pedestrian infrastructure and cycle lanes. An empty space that is currently used as parking is converted into a public plaza that connected an existing park and library. Crocheting was taught to the local community to increase engagement. The roof of the area was made using recycled cloth by the local people. The design also created temporary seating spaces.
